CARLO VILLA

BIOGRAPHY:

Born in Sussex, Carlo Villa is a multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter and composer who began writing music seriously at 17 and was broadcast on BBC Introducing. Since then he’s learnt to play 20 instruments, has written over 200 songs and scored film and theatre.

Recently, he released his landmark EP Shoe Box, inspired by the internet pop of the early 2010s and the bizarrely profound nostalgia that young adults experience today. These four songs explore themes of the past, growth and home. Tracks have been broadcast on the BBC.

Also completed this year, Carlo composed the soundtrack for Lydia McNulty's newilm, Mayflies, starring Sally Phillips, Ashna Rabheru, and Madeleine Spooner (who also wrote the script). The film has been making it’s way around the festivals and has enjoyed much praise.
